Editorial Ethics Policy
Last updated September 2026
The Virtuous Creative is an independent journalism publication serving Christian women entrepreneurs. Our reporting covers business, money, work, culture, faith, public policy, and other issues affecting the women and communities we serve.
Our Christian perspective informs the questions we ask, the issues we examine, and the context we provide. It does not replace factual reporting, verification, fairness, or editorial independence.
Accuracy and fairness
We aim to publish reporting that is accurate, fair, well-sourced, and presented with appropriate context.
Information is verified before publication using sources such as interviews, public records, government documents, research, data, company statements, and other credible reporting.
We distinguish confirmed facts from analysis, interpretation, allegations, and opinion.
When a person, company, organization, or public official is the subject of significant criticism or allegations, we make a reasonable effort to give them an opportunity to respond.
We do not plagiarize or knowingly distort facts, quotations, data, images, or context.
Corrections
Accuracy matters after publication too.
When we learn that a factual error has been published, we review it and correct it as promptly as possible. Significant corrections or clarifications will be disclosed on the story when appropriate.
Readers are welcome to contact The Virtuous Creative with questions or concerns about the accuracy of our reporting.
Sources
We identify sources whenever possible, so readers have enough information to evaluate their knowledge, credibility, and perspective.
Anonymous sourcing is used sparingly and only when there is a strong journalistic reason to protect a source’s identity. Information provided anonymously still requires appropriate verification.
We treat sources and story subjects with respect while maintaining our responsibility to ask meaningful questions and report information in the public interest.
Independence and conflicts of interest
Editorial decisions are made independently.
Sources, advertisers, sponsors, donors, businesses, ambassadors, partners, or other outside parties do not receive favorable editorial coverage in exchange for money, access, promotion, services, gifts, or other benefits.
Participation in a Virtuous Creative program, community, survey, event, or ambassador initiative does not guarantee editorial coverage.
The Virtuous Creative does not pay sources for interviews or information.
Potential conflicts of interest are avoided when possible and disclosed when they are relevant to a reader’s understanding of a story.
When reporting involves a business or individual with whom The Virtuous Creative or its founder has a material professional or financial relationship, that relationship will be evaluated before coverage and disclosed when appropriate.
Sponsors, advertising, and partnerships
Advertising, sponsorships, affiliate relationships, and other commercial arrangements remain separate from editorial decision-making.
Paid or sponsored content will be clearly identified.
Sponsors and advertisers do not determine which stories are covered, which sources are interviewed, what questions are asked, or what conclusions are reported.
Faith and editorial perspective
The Virtuous Creative serves a Christian audience and approaches business and public life with a faith-informed perspective.
Our coverage may examine questions involving stewardship, discernment, calling, integrity, leadership, service, community, responsibility, and other principles relevant to Christian women in business.
A faith-informed editorial lens does not mean every story has a religious subject.
We may report on technology, money, marketing, economic policy, elections, workplace issues, entrepreneurship, culture, and other developments when they have meaningful consequences for our audience.
Reporting is grounded in verifiable information. Commentary, personal essays, or opinion will be clearly distinguished from reported journalism.
Elections and political coverage
The Virtuous Creative does not use its news reporting to promote political candidates or political parties.
Election and public-policy coverage focuses on verifiable information, voting and election processes, policy decisions, civic participation, and consequences for businesses and communities.
Our Christian perspective may inform the questions we explore, while factual claims are reported and verified independently of partisan interests.
When reporting on disputed political claims, we seek credible evidence rather than presenting unsupported claims as equally valid simply because competing sides exist.
Artificial intelligence and technology
Technology, including artificial intelligence tools, may assist with tasks such as research organization, transcription, brainstorming, or workflow support.
Human editorial judgment remains responsible for published journalism.
Facts, quotations, sources, statistics, and substantive claims are reviewed and verified before publication. AI-generated information is not treated as a source.
Accountability
The Virtuous Creative welcomes thoughtful questions about our reporting and editorial decisions.
Our responsibility is to serve readers with journalism that is useful, trustworthy, independent, and transparent about how the work is produced.
